Value Methodology Training, SAVE International
The RHA team affords great flexibility in providing various types of training to support your organization. This includes Introductory Courses, VMF I, VMF II, Facilitation/Team Leader Skills, Team Development, Risk Analysis, Creativity, Process Mapping and Life Cycle Costing. We truly believe that trained staff provides more effective team members for value studies and enhances individual’s capabilities. In fact, RHA has developed a one-day training session on How to be a More Effective Team Member.
RHA’s approach is to provide training that ensures the participants are highly motivated and excited about the courses. We believe it is necessary to apply adult-learning techniques to that training to ensure involvement, excitement and ensure that the attendees truly embrace the course content. This is done through experienced and motivated trainers and trainers that bring a wealth of experience with numerous transportation agencies throughout the nation and internationally. The trainers that we have selected for our team have the required personality and skill set to provide effective training along with an enjoyable atmosphere. This helps attendees learn and more widely embrace using the process in the future.
RHA also wants to help clients develop their personnel into great team members as well as trying to motivate them to become interested in leading Value Studies. We believe it is important to help identify those individuals to management to help them to begin to establish a database that they can use into the future to help identify employees that want to attend future certification courses to further develop their team leader skills. A specific evaluation question can be added to our course evaluation form to allow the attendee to identify future interests in the VE process, either as a team member or team leader.
One of the very important elements in VA training is the issue of consistency in the training. The lead trainers have already used and helped to develop the training programs that we have been delivering to our clients. RHA also prides ourself on our continuing efforts to improve our program based on feedback from the workshop attendees and discussions with the program’s manager. We will continue to provide the best possible services to our clients.
Team Member Training – This course includes an 8-hour session which trains staff members on the VE methodology and on how to be a good VE team member. We discuss expectations for both pre-study and study participation including attitudes and behaviors.
Introduction to VA – The RHA team has established several different introductory courses that have been delivered throughout the nation and in Canada. These courses can help Caltrans staff to obtain a better understanding of the VA process and to try and motivate them into wanting to continue their studies in the methodology. The Introductory course consists of much of the same information we provide during a Module I workshop without actually performing a “live” project.
